Job Summary: The Portfolio Analyst plays a pivotal role within the Investment Management team, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative environment. Core responsibilities encompass conducting thorough portfolio-level analytics and delivering insightful performance reports. The position also involves collecting, processing, and ensuring the accuracy of security-level data and trade entries. A key focus is placed on fixed-income market research and the preparation of a weekly tactical report to inform and enhance investment strategies. Additional responsibilities include managing and validating investment data, spearheading process enhancements, responding to organizational data requests, and engaging in vendor selection, due diligence, and ongoing relationship management. In this capacity, the Portfolio Analyst partners closely with principal investment professionals, actuaries, accountants, and product development teams, all working together to achieve optimal investment outcomes across public and private strategies. * Ability to work in Eastern Time Zone is a requirement of the role. * The Skills & Background You’ll Need: Benchmarking, Reporting, and Analytics (25%): Lead analysis initiatives to support benchmarking, reporting, performance and attribution analysis, surveillance, and compliance testing. Analytical Tool Assessment and Implementation (25%): Guide the investment management team in evaluating, enhancing, and implementing credit and investment analytical tools. Utilize platforms such as Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet Workstation, S&P Global, ICE Index Platform, Barclays Live, and other service providers to ensure effective data distribution, reporting, and market intelligence. Portfolio Management Support (25%): Provide essential support to the portfolio management team, including trade tracking and entry, cash flow monitoring, new-issue deal sourcing, and related tasks. Act as a liaison between portfolio management and investment operations to ensure seamless communication and workflow. Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement (25%): Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies, supporting portfolio optimization, data integrity, and precise reporting. Innovate by developing tools that streamline and automate key processes. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, or a related field is required. Experience: Minimum of four years’ relevant experience in principal investment or capital markets environments. Candidates must exhibit strong financial modeling and analytical abilities within an investment or capital market setting, complemented by expertise in the United States capital markets. The position demands keen attention to detail, self-motivation, and a collaborative approach to teamwork. Familiarity with fixed income investments such as corporate bonds, structured securities and private placements. Professional Certification: Progress toward, or a demonstrated interest in, obtaining the CFA designation is highly valued. Familiarity with Bloomberg and at least one major fixed-income analytics platform (FactSet, Aladdin, Bond Edge, etc.). Project management experience. Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
